Position Summary:
As the Director of Finance, you will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial operations, planning, and analysis to drive data-informed decision-making. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will manage a team of finance professionals, ensuring the organizations financial health and operational efficiency while supporting the company's expansion goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives, including market expansion, acquisitions, and operational scaling.
- Partner with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations for long-term planning and decision-making.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes to provide accurate and timely projections.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver actionable insights to improve profitability, cash flow, and operational efficiency.
Operational Finance Management
- Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Support due diligence, valuation modeling, and integration efforts for new acquisitions.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure smooth financial onboarding of acquired locations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Build and refine scalable finance processes and systems to support the organizations growth trajectory.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and industry-specific regulations.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to mitigate financial and operational risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Masters degree or CPA preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within multi-site healthcare, retail, or private equity-backed organizations.
- Strong understanding of financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with expertise in creating scalable financial systems and processes.
- Experience managing financial aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, insurance billing, or optical/ophthalmology services is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms preferred.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
- High level of adaptability and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
