At Stafford Rosenbaum, you'll find a healthy professional environment that encourages a strong work/life balance.Job OverviewThe Director of Finance is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of finance and accounting activities at Stafford Rosenbaum LLP. The Director of Finance also is responsible for providing direction and oversight of the firm's information technology ( IT ) department, partnering with the vCIO.This individual performs a variety of duties relating to the internal financial functions, including providing partners with requested financial information, and helps the firm meet its financial goals through process improvement and implementation of strategies. The Director of Finance has oversight of the accounting and IT staff.Duties
  • Direct the accumulation, preparation and presentation of firm financial and administrative reports as directed by firm leadership.
  • Analyze firm financial data, including monthly analyses of income and expenses, and report results to firm leadership.
  • Direct, review and approve preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Develop and document policies, procedures, and internal controls relating to all accounting functions and operations.
  • Develop and prepare annual operating and capital budgets, tracking status of actual versus budget performance monthly.
  • Assist in financial assessments for lateral attorneys and analysis of compensation agreements.
  • Partner with CPA firm to complete necessary tax documents and for advice, as needed.
  • Partnering with firm's vCIO, continually review strategic IT plans and coordinate projects, providing direction and oversight to internal IT staff.Requirements
  • At least ten years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or finance-related areas or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Professional client service manner communication proficiency, exercising courtesy, diplomacy and tact.
  • Solid team player with demonstrated ability to work with attorneys, staff, clients, community and business partners.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, working independently to handle multiple deadlines under aggressive time constraints.
