The 33 Seaport Hotel NYC is looking for our next great management team member to lead our Finance team. We are committed to providing you with:

Here is what you will be doing each day:

The Director of Finance is responsible for providing ethical and consistent leadership in the financial area of the hotel by supplying management with guidance, training, and support. The role focuses on profitability, maintaining accurate financial reporting, ensuring internal controls, compliance with regulations, and safeguarding assets.

  • Evaluate the financial impact on business decisions.
  • Ensure that all levels of management are promptly notified of any financial deviations from established policies and/or control weaknesses in the hotel.
  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues, including the accurate preparation of cash-flow statements and timely deposits of all funds.
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording in accordance with established guidelines. Investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year and offer improvement strategies.
  • Monitor the capital planning process by assisting management with calculations and evaluating scope of work.
  • Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and taxes.
  • Coordinate the completion of all forecasts and budgets with the management team.
  • Analyze financial data and operations to assist management in maintaining financial objectives.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
  • Establish and audit all internal financial controls.
  • Embrace a continuous growth environment by actively hiring and developing staff.
  • Maintain compliance with standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operation.
  • Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of all IT systems and equipment.
  • Direct and prepare all financial reports in accordance with requirements.
  • Review and submit daily revenue and labor reports.
  • Distribute and discuss weekly G/L report with department managers.
  • Update GM on any unfavorable financial issues impacting the month.
  • Ensure sufficient cash to meet scheduled obligations.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Does this sound like you?

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Hotel Accounting as a Director of Finance.
  • Experience with Birchstreet, M3, and ProfitSage systems is a plus.
  • College Degree in Accounting.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.

For applicants working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually. The salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on factors including years of experience, education, and work location.
