Director of Financial Planning and Analysis
We are looking for a skilled Director of FP&A to join our team on Long Island, NY. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our commercial functions by providing financial planning, budgeting, and analysis. You'll primarily work alongside the commercial team to enhance revenue forecasting, expense management, strategic planning, and decision-making. This role reports directly to the VP of Corporate Finance.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive FP&A experience, ideally from a manufacturing or distribution background, with strong analytical abilities and a knack for presenting financial data in a clear, actionable way to a variety of audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives
- Collect, process, and analyze sales data to derive meaningful insights
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports (daily, monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Develop and maintain dashboards to track sales performance, pipeline metrics, and other key performance indicators
- Conduct profitability analysis at the customer and product level
- Partner with leaders in Sales Divisions to provide recommendations on sales performance by employee, region, and territory
- Analyze and optimize the pricing model to enhance pricing performance
- Develop and analyze cost-to-serve models and contribution margins to inform future investments
- Aggregate and distribute daily sales reports
- Assist in preparing materials for Board of Directors presentations
- Support KPI and dashboard reporting
- Help with the monthly close process (accruals, prepaids, variance analysis, etc.)
- Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to provide business insights and identify opportunities for improvement
- Champion the standardization and automation of processes through system and tool enhancements
- Perform ad hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in finance, with experience in a global manufacturing business preferred
- Strong proficiency in financial systems and databases; skilled in data mining and analytics
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical and research skills
