This position involves collaborating with college leadership, stakeholders, and the foundation's board to secure financial resources, foster community engagement, and enhance scholarship opportunities. The position oversees grant development, financial management, marketing initiatives, and reporting processes to ensure compliance, transparency, and the sustained success of the foundation's programs and activities.Job Duties of the Director of Foundation, Grants, and Alumni:
  • Strategic Planning, Community Engagement, and Collaboration with College Leadership - Collaborates with College Leadership to develop strategic plan for foundation alignment, fundraising efforts, alumni, and grant opportunities with institutional goals. Develops and implements strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies through foundation engagement and grant opportunities. Oversees, coordinates, and archives foundation and grant activities. Builds relationships with community stakeholders, including local businesses, government officials, and nonprofit organizations and federal and state grant organizations. Coordinates representation of the foundation and the college community with external stakeholders. Evaluates the effectiveness of foundation and grant strategies and provides an annual report to the President and boards.
  • Grants Management - Identifies grant opportunities and prepares grant proposals to secure funding for specific projects and initiatives. Manages grant funds ensuring compliance with grant requirements and providing reports to funders. Coordinates with College teams responsible for writing, developing, and implementing grant proposals. Reads, interprets, and develops the Go/No-Go Decision Matrices requests for proposals and funding guidelines from government agencies and foundations to determine if appropriate for college and how best to respond and comply. Coordination typically includes leading the Go/No-Go Decision Matrices, working with contractor and internal personnel to develop and write grant proposals. Completes final edits and organizes grant documents written by other staff and faculty. Facilitates grant efforts, including grant approval process and post-award compliance. Acts as a Grants Office liaison to community organizations, government agencies, and NETC teams involved with the development and administration of projects and proposals. Monitors outstanding grant proposals. Follows up with funding agency, as necessary.
  • Foundation Management - Works closely with the foundation's board of directors, providing support to board members and facilitating board meetings. Engages board members in fundraising activities and leveraging their networks and expertise. Oversees and approves the foundation's budget and financial operations, including revenue generation, expense management, and financial reporting. Evaluates and processes reimbursement requests including, but not limited to professional development, memorials, travel, and meals. Manages asset portfolio such as lease payments, legal paperwork, title work, investment opportunities, and assets. Ensures compliance with financial regulations and best practices. Ensures annual contribution agreements are collected and assigned to proper accounts. Responsible for planning events associated with the Foundation such as galas, etc. Leads and organizes fundraising events, such as galas, auctions, and golf tournaments. Serves as the point of contact for new funding opportunities available through local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as through private and corporate foundations. relationships with donors and potential donors, including alumni, local businesses, and community leaders.
  • Scholarship, Stewardship, and Donor Relations - Administers scholarship programs, including application processes, selection committees, and award distribution. Collaborates with college departments to identify funding priorities and support academic and extracurricular programs. Implements stewardship programs to recognize and thank donors for their support. Maintains regular communication with donors and grant administration, providing updates on the impact of their contributions, and soliciting feedback.
  • Marketing and Communication - Works with the Marketing Department to create materials for foundation and grant awareness and communication strategies. Promotes the foundation's mission and activities and the value of outside grant support for NETC. Utilizes various channels, such as social media, newsletters, and press releases, to raise awareness and engage stakeholders. Disseminates information on funding opportunities and compliance requirements to NETC staff, faculty, administrators, stakeholders including community organizations and partnerships, Foundation Trustees, and NETC Area Commissioners.
  • Reporting - Maintains accurate records of donors, donations, and fundraising and grant activities. Analyzes data to track performance, identifies trends, and makes informed decisions leading the college in its fundraising and grants activities. Maintains necessary records, files, reports, databases, and resource materials supporting foundati9on and grant activities. Ensures foundation and grant timelines are met. Develops outlines, timelines, staffing, budgets, and college boilerplate templates for foundation and grants activities according to funding guidelines. Works with Institutional Research on data requests and needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant experience. Must have a valid driver's license. NETC Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of relevant program experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of College's mission, programs, and objectives. Knowledge of management principles. Knowledge of an agency's organizational structure, the people who manage the work and the processes applicable to government work. Knowledge of principles and procedures pertaining to professional fundraising activities. Knowledge of federal and state tax laws as they apply to charitable giving and charitable trusts. Knowledge of journalistic and public relations methods and procedures for planning and conducting large-scale fundraising activities. Knowledge of practices related to grant funding from state and federal sources. Knowledge of contractual and grant monitoring procedures. Knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and procedures. Knowledge of agency policies and regulations which pertain to contractual and grant activities. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. Ability to manage work and provide guidance to employees. Ability to make presentations and prepare reports. Ability to establish good working relationships with alumni, businesses, students, media, faculty and other potential donors to the university. Ability to interpret and apply tax laws as they relate to charitable giving. Ability to review and assess complex grants and contracts. Additional Comments Under minimal supervision of the President of the College, uses a high-level of independence and discretion in managing current grants and working with other internal and external team members on current and potential grants. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Local and regional travel required. Some overnight travel may be required.
