Job Description

The Director of Green Lending will spearhead the development and growth of our client's green and clean energy loan programs. This role is critical in driving the financial institution's commitment to sustainability and climate goals through the expansion of clean energy lending. The Director will focus on increasing the clean energy loan portfolio, enhancing its value proposition, and serving low- and moderate-income communities. They will lead outreach efforts to engage members and partners while advancing our client's ambitious climate goals. Key responsibilities include conducting market analysis, fostering strategic partnerships, and implementing operational improvements to deliver outstanding member experiences in the green lending sector.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Establish and maintain external relationships with key partners in the clean energy sector, including contractors, local governments, nonprofits, and other stakeholders focused on green products and low- and moderate-income communities. Identify and leverage targeted energy efficiency assistance programs and funding partnerships within the credit union's service area.
  • Create and implement marketing strategies specific to green lending in collaboration with internal staff to achieve program goals. Provide technical assistance and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on green lending. Establish guidelines for green lending programs and relationships.
  • Ensure clean energy lending products comply with green reporting requirements and support internal teams in meeting these standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience with green financing programs or sustainable lending practices is preferred, but not required
  • Previous lending or green lending experience is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Superb communication skills
