Director of Health Home Services - Mental Health Association In Ulster County : Job Details

Overview MHA in Ulster County, Inc is seeking a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Program Director of Health Homes Services to be responsible for strategic planning, growth and overall administration and oversight of the Health Homes Program to include adults and child/youth populations. This includes supervision of staff, recruiting and retention, development, and implementation of program policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the Senior Director of Program Operations to ensure long-term success and enforce MHA policies and procedures consistently with all staff. The Director of Health Homes also oversees the OMH Care Coordination, a non-Medicaid case management program, and CORE. The schedule for this position is Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm. The salary for this position is $75,645. Responsibilities Include:

• Responsible for full development, administration and implementation of policies and regulations regarding the Health Home Care Management program, as determined by the regulating bodies, and delegated by the Senior Director.
• Continuously provide program development and implementation through on going needs assessment involving all important stakeholders, esp. the Institute for Family Health, the Ulster County Designated Health Home, program participants and other service providers, to develop and recommend programs and goals which are responsive to the needs of current and future participants.
• Provide clinical and administrative staff supervision and recommend to the Senior Director persons for employment or termination of employment in the Health Home Care Management department, following due process. Supervise and train all personnel in the department, conduct 6 month and annual performance evaluations, monitor weekly schedules, work with the Director of Human Resources to address performance issues. Enforce MHA policies & procedures consistently with all staff.
• Responsible for Fiscal Management of Program. Work with the Senior Director to see that the Health Home Care Management program is adequately funded for the current operating needs and long terms goals. Work with the VP of Finance and the Senior Director to develop an annual department budget and manage that budget throughout the year.
• Provide services that prevent crisis in order to avoid unnecessary use of emergency room, inpatient or treatment services.
• Promote recovery from mental illness by assisting persons in their reintegration into a meaningful role in community life.

Qualifications

• A Licensed level healthcare professional (e.g. RN, licensed clinician, psychologist) with prior experience in a behavioral health clinic or care management supervisory capacity and 3 years of supervisory experience; or a Master's level professional and 3 years' prior experience supervising clinicians and/or Care Managers who are providing direct services to individuals with Serious Mental Illness/Substance Use Disorders.
• A combination of education, professional and life experience which will enable the Director to provide outreach, enrollment and service to large numbers of eligible individuals. Knowledge of both behavioral health and physical health issues a must. Knowledge of Ulster County behavioral health and physical health services and community services is vital.
• Ability to work with many different people in many different environments.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to initiate programs are essential.
• Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations required by federal, state, or local law.
• Must have a clean, valid NYS driver's license with 3 years driving experience.
