Director of Health Information - Phelps Health : Job Details

The Director of Health Information Management manages and oversees all activities of the centralized Health Information Management (HIM) Department for Phelps Health Medical Center, Phelps Health Medical Group and Phelps Health Homecare. This is to include, but is not limited to clerical HIM functions, transcription, release of information, data integrity, forms management, My. Chart support, record retention, and data archiving. The Director is responsible for the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the patient's medical record. The Director ensures compliance with federal and state laws as they relate to medical records, and ensures that hospital and departmental policies and procedures are in accordance with the requirements of CMS, Joint Commission, HIPAA, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and all other regulatory agencies.
