Position Summary The Director of Human Resources, serving as a Strategic HR Business Partner to leadership, leads talent management and talent acquisition initiatives while navigating the complexities of a unionized workforce within the Health System . This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent in alignment with the organization's strategic objectives, w hile ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor relations laws.
Key Responsibilities Performance/Talent Management:
- Oversee the performance management process for unionized employees, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance feedback, goal setting, and development planning.
- Collaborate with leadership to address performance-related issues, implement corrective actions, and support employee development.
- Develop and implement talent management strategies, including workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development programs.
Talent Acquisition:
- Lead the talent acquisition function in a union environment, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and organizational policies.
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent pools, job fairs, and other recruitment channels.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure fair and equitable recruitment and selection processes.
Union Relations:
- Serve as a liaison between management and union representatives, fostering open communication and collaboration to address employee concerns and resolve conflicts.
- Interpret and apply collective bargaining agreements and labor relations policies to ensure compliance and fair treatment of unionized employees.
- Collaborate with union leadership to negotiate labor contracts, resolve grievances, and implement union-sponsored programs and initiatives.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
- Partner with HR team to address employee concerns, facilitate dispute resolution, and promote employee wellness initiatives.
- Participate in regular meetings with union leadership to gather feedback, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
HR Analytics and Compliance:
- Utilize HR data and analytics to monitor key talent metrics, trends, and workforce demographics
- Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and regulations governing unionized workplaces.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership and union representatives on talent management, talent acquisition, and employee relations initiatives.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in HR programs and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures related to talent management and talent acquisition.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management, talent acquisition, and HR technology, and make recommendations for enhancements as needed.
Position Qualifications Experience
- 5 years of experience in HR management capacity or the equivalent in education and experience.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management or related field is required.
Preferred Certification/Licensure
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR preferred
