- Team Work - We collaborate and celebrate.Role Purpose & ResponsibilitiesPurposeReporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the Director of Individual Homelessness provides oversight to the Individual Shelter, Mobile Street Outreach and Warming Center Programs.Responsibilities
- Ensure all individuals are served are treated with dignity and respect.
- Ensure all services are provided in compliance with various funding sources.
- Model Housing Families and DEIB values to all staff and ensure all employees deliver services and foster a work environment consistent with these values.
- Oversee all programmatic and contract compliance elements of HFI's Individual Shelter, Street Outreach and Warming Center programs. This includes analyzing data to ensure services are reflective of population needs, all rehousing and service-related goals are being met and teams are fully staffed and well trained.
- Ensure principles of trauma informed care are embedded in program operations.
- Supervise a team of program managers, case managers and other program support staff. This includes hiring, training, team building, weekly supervision, and embeddingprinciples and practices of equity, inclusion and belonging.
- Partner with property team to ensure shelter units meet habitability standards and maintenance needs are resolved.
- Audit data entered into HMIS software to ensure accurate records are maintained for all clients.
- Ensure proper service prioritization by auditing intake and waitlist triage.
- Serve as a member of the senior leadership team on resolving agency wide issues and implementing best practices.
- Compile program data for grant and fundraising opportunities.
- Work with finance team to establish program budgets and track expenses accordingly.
- Build and maintain relationships with community parterns to maximize collaboration.
- Organize and participate in an on-call rotation with other shelter staff to respond to off-hour emergencies.
- Manage crises as they arise utilizing flexible approaches and a calm presence.
- Other duties as assigned.Qualifications/RequirementsQualificationsMust have experience working directly with clients in the human services field. Must have experience managing program funding, facilitating groups and providing supervision. Must have excellent organizational skills to manage on-going projects concurrently with the flexibility to manage frequent changes, and excellent communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn new software and tracking systems. Working knowledge of the impact of trauma, homelessness, and Motivational Interviewing. Working knowledge of domestic violence, substance use and mental health conditions. Bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole a plus.Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to work in Metro Boston/North Shore and have reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to work 9am - 5pm on Monday through Friday with some flexibility needed for meetings and supervising staff.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be 18 years or older.Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time walking up and down flights of stairs
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computerApplications/Compensation
