Pilgrim Psychiatric Center (PPC); a Joint Commission accredited NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility, is recruiting a Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 2 Operations (DDPC 2 Operations) who will serve as the Director of Inpatient & Residential Services.
The Director of Inpatient & Residential Services serves as an essential member of PPCs Executive Leadership Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director and in close collaboration with the Clinical Director and administrative cabinet, the Director of Inpatient & Residential Services will design, develop, evaluate, and ensure the effective operations of PPCs adult inpatient and residential services including:
About PPC
PPC, located in Brentwood, NY, provides a continuum of inpatient and outpatient mental health services to adults residing in Long Island and the Greater NYC Region.
PPCs inpatient services include thirteen (13) units which consist of six (6) psychiatric rehabilitation units, five (5) admission units, and two (2) geriatric units. The outpatient services include clinics, residential programs, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, and Mobile Integration Team (MIT). PPC aims to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment outcomes for unserved populations. Minimum Qualifications:
Education
Master's degree in a mental hygiene discipline (including physician assistant, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, speech pathology and audiology, communication disorders, psychology, recreation therapy, rehabilitation counseling, education, nursing), hospital administration, community mental health, business or public administration or other administrative area specifically related to health care, behavioral or social science or a valid license to practice medicine in New York State or Canada.
AND
Experience
Seven (7) years of administrative, consultative, or supervisory experience in a mental health program, three (3) years of which must have been managerial experience, including one or more of
the following:
1. One (1) year of experience in a position comparable to Clinical Chief of Service or Director of Mental Health Rehabilitation;
OR
2.Two (2) years of experience in a position as administrative head of a multidisciplinary treatment team;
OR
3. Two (2) years of professional, supervisory, or administrative experience in the development, operation, and/or implementation of the mental health service delivery system for State facilities, counties, or local/private agencies in three (3) or more of the following areas: program development, management procedures, community organization, resource planning, funding, program proposals, advisory boards, consumer and community advocacy and intergovernmental relations.
Additionally, all candidates must be eligible to participate in Federal health care programs (e.g., Medicaid). Individuals excluded from participation in these programs will not be considered.
