We are currently seeking a results-oriented Director of Inventory Planning to join our Woodbury NY location. The Director of Inventory Planning will be responsible for implementing a forecasting process to improve the accuracy of inventory and replenishment. The position will strategically manage planning, forecasting and procurement processes to optimize cash flow while maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability to meet company service and business plan objectives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop a dynamic forecast and inventory projection tool to improve analytical agility and reporting capabilities.
  • Implement a weekly PSI plan review and monthly SIOP process across the organization.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reporting mechanisms to track and measure inventory performance.
  • Collaborate with the commercial organization to analyze sales data, market trends, historical information, and statistical data to create inventory forecasts.
  • Develop and execute inventory performance strategies to help the team identify risks/opportunities.
  • Drive inventory optimization initiatives, including assortment rationalization, markdown management, and replenishment strategies.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize inventory processes, systems, and tools to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that inventory, planning, and allocation processes are integrated and aligned with business goals.
  • Review, update and modernize inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure accurate and timely inventory management.
  • Evaluate and implement software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory.
  • Communicate and regularly monitor the purchase plans with team of buyers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • 8+ years' experience in inventory & distribution planning, inventory management, operations, buying/procurement, and/or logistics/distribution.
  • Knowledge of Flooring industry a plus.
  • APICS CPIM Certified preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with data modeling.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL) and inventory management software.
  • Solid understanding of inventory planning concepts, demand forecasting techniques, and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence stakeholders at various levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
