Job Description - Director of Learning, Development & Training (240009L1)

The Director of Learning, Development & Training is an innovative leader who will develop and lead EEC's new Training Unit. They will be responsible for creating structure and consistency around the agency's on-the-job onboarding, change management, and professional development processes. They must ensure that both existing and newly hired staff at EEC have the tools, knowledge, and resources to support children and child care providers across the Commonwealth.
The Director of Learning, Development & Training serves as a leader within Internal Operations, a Unit under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. They will work to build a new function within EEC focused on creating structure and consistency in agency-wide internal and external training and professional development. As a leader in the agency, they must use a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) lens across all trainings and in their role to support the development of agency culture and belonging through professional learning and development opportunities.
They work closely with other leaders in the agency to identify training needs, determine the appropriate method to conduct said training and assist in the development of materials for subject matter experts to be equipped to host effective trainings. They work alongside others in the Internal Operations unit to implement effective onboarding for agency staff, including shared best practices, efficiencies, and cross-division overviews. They also work with staff from other agencies, including the Executive Office of Education and bargaining unit leaders, to identify training and professional development opportunities for agency staff.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
