Make a difference in the lives of New York City's older adults, their families and the community. For over 50 years PSS has performed vital and important work. Through its ten centers, two apartment buildings and affiliated programs, the agency touches the lives of over 2,000 people a day. As the Director of Center Operations and Compliance, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating operations and compliance of our ten older adult centers with our contracts, deliverables and ensuring the centers operate effectively. This Director's role is vital in ensuring effective supportive services are put in place and innovative programming is provided that allows our members to remain active and engaged in their communities.This position reports to the Senior Director of Older Adult Center RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work to ensure that all older adults centers have access to quality programs that fit the contract unit bench marks.
  • Coordinate and Schedule quality activities and classes across all ten PSS centers.
  • Find vendors and consultants to provide services across all 10 centers. Establish and maintain relationships with local and community organizations, leaders and elected officials.
  • Oversee and develop programming with a special focus on innovative programs emphasizing healthy, purposeful and successful aging. Setting annual goals and objectives and supervising the program staff in achieving this.
  • Fill-in as acting Director as needed when center director position is vacant, including but not limited to executing Center Program Director's duties.
  • Oversight of DOH, NYC aging and FDNY Compliance. Including conducting Initial Center Visits/ Assessments as well as a follow up within 90 days of Initial Center Visits.
  • Work with Center staff to assure that contracted units for the center are met and successfully completing Monthly Metric Reports .
  • Assist with the Interview process of Hiring staff and pre-screening candidates.
  • Assure that files, forms and records are current and organized.
  • Demonstrate leadership, lead team meetings, and provide effective supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers when applicable.
  • Promote the agency and center by performing outreach, participating in community events, and representing the agency to the public. Develop and maintain liaisons with other organizations, as appropriate, to collaborate in outreach efforts or other partnership opportunities.
  • Effectively utilize social media and other digital and communication tools to reach a broad audience.
  • Must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings for events.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Worker, related field required (MSW, LMSW, SIFI Certified desirable)
  • Excellent Program Management Skills
  • Experience working with Older Adults preferred
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) highly preferred
