Director of Operations

Our Rochester, NH client is seeking a Director of Operations! The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive leader with Lean Manufacturing experience in an ISO-certified facility. This is an excellent full-time, direct-hire opportunity with comprehensive benefits and a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities of the Director of Operations

• Oversee daily operations including safety, quality, R&D, production, purchasing, IT, and facility maintenance

• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures
• Enhance operational management systems and best practices
• Collaborate with suppliers to conduct new product development experiments/trials
• Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and develop/implement quality control testing methods
• Optimize supplier and customer relationships
• Assist with budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing
• Oversee QMS and maintain FDA registration
• Conduct benchmark testing of competitive products
• Foster a company culture that encourages safety and top performance

Qualifications of the Director of Operations

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management preferred
• 10+ years of experience, demonstrating a proven track record of scaling operations from individual contributors to coordinated teams
• Background in materials, plastics, textiles, chemistry, or engineering a plus
• Background in ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 QMS
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies; familiar with Kaizen and Five Why problem-solving/analysis techniques
• MS Office proficiency and strong writing skills
• Willing to conduct hands-on testing, experiments, and production trials, and work safely with chemical in an industrial setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
