The Director of Operations at Basic Resources, a leading wholesale company, is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of the business. This role involves managing high volumes of orders, ensuring efficient processing and fulfillment, and driving operational excellence across all facets of the company. The Director of Operations will work to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and ensure that our wholesale operations align with strategic goals and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for Strategic Planning and Execution, Risk Management, Compliance, Leadership, Collaboration and Operational Management.
- Develop and execute operational strategies tailored to the wholesale business model and high order volumes.
- Collaborate with the executive team to set operational priorities, performance targets, and growth objectives.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve order management, inventory control, and distribution efficiency.
- Collaborate with COO to assess new business opportunities (external growth) and help with due diligences related to a new business
- Oversee daily operations related to style creation, purchase requisition, order processing, inventory management, and fulfillment to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to handle large order volumes efficiently.
- Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics and KPIs, taking corrective actions as needed to optimize order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and manage the operations team.
- Provide training, support, and performance management to ensure high productivity and adherence to quality standards.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture within the operations department.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve order accuracy.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to assess and refine operational workflows and performance related to order management and inventory.
- Implement technologies and systems to streamline order processing and fulfillment.
- Work closely with other departments such as IT, Sales, Planning, Design, Production and Customer Service to align operations with broader business objectives and customer needs.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between operations and other key functions to support seamless order fulfillment.
- Support the implementation of company-wide initiatives and projects related to wholesale and potential DTC operations.
- Ensure that operational practices comply with legal, regulatory, and customers standards, particularly regarding order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Identify potential risks related to high order volumes and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within a wholesale or high-volume order environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, particularly in a high-volume order setting.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale operations and driving efficiency improvements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic wholesale environment.
- Strong understanding of Database Fundamentals and as baseline understanding of process and data flow best practices, along with some experience with database languages.
- Power Query and SAP experience a plus, Excel required.
Annual salary starting at $140,000.
