The Director of Operations oversees operational activities for all production and Distribution/Fulfillment departments in the site. This position works with department managers to ensure effective labor management, product output, compliance, and safety. Additionally, the Director of Operations strategizes process improvements to ensure facility goals are met.
- Creates and maintains an atmosphere that promotes teamwork by providing support and encouragement to fellow staff members and employees.
- Optimizes labor force efficiencies and ensures a smooth and efficient employee workflow.
- Works with the facility team to ensure all equipment is working properly and safely.
- Works with managers to confirm daily tasks including processing, quality control, packaging, inventory management and fulfillment are completed according to schedule.
- Promotes compliance mindset, ensures compliant inventory records in METRC and monthly audit follow-ups. Owning the follow through of production and inventory plans to proactively manage, driving improved and sustainable processes.
- Works with the Regional DOO and VP of Operations to establish objectives and track key performance indicators across the organization; ensure continued improvement in all balanced scorecard indicators with emphasis on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Cost and Culture.
- Works closely with compliance team to ensure facility and staff understand and remain in full compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations.
- Works with Distribution/Fulfillment teams to plan, prioritize and execute key production goals and projects.
- Communicates operational goals, deficiencies, and challenges to VP of Operations and National team members.
- Makes sure employees adhere to the SOPs, ensuring accurate recording of information into software programs including Metrc, InfoPlus, Leaflink, etc.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors and authorizes purchases and deliveries.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University preferred or substitute experience for the degree.
- 3-5 years experience in cannabis or manufacturing operations management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with process management, budgets, P&L, team problem-solving inventory control
- Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
- Must be able to communicate with both site and larger team effectively and professionally.
- Must perform under high pressure situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high stress situations.
