Job DescriptionThe Osher School of Music (OSOM) and the Crewe Center for the Arts at the University of Southern Maine are seeking a Director of Operations to oversee key administrative and operational functions. In this leadership role, you will collaborate with faculty, staff, and the University administration to ensure efficient day-to-day operations, manage physical assets, and support the overall strategic vision of the School. Key responsibilities include optimizing workflows, overseeing facilities, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring a seamless transition to the Crewe Center for the Arts, opening in Fall 2025. The Director of Operations for the Osher School of Music (OSOM) reports directly to the OSOM Director and is responsible for executing the School's strategic vision while managing key operational and administrative functions for both OSOM and the new Crewe Center for the Arts, set to open in Fall 2025. This role plays a vital part in coordinating efforts among faculty, staff, and departments to support the School's objectives, while ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective work environment. The Director of Operations will focus on optimizing daily processes, managing physical assets, and overseeing scheduling and logistics for performances and events.In collaboration with the OSOM Director, this role will also oversee the administration of educational licenses, scheduling for faculty and staff, and coordinate with University offices such as HR, Procurement, and Facilities. The Director of Operations will manage budgets related to the School's operational needs and ensure that all events and facilities run smoothly, contributing to the success of USM's artistic endeavors and positioning the Crewe Center for the Arts as a premier venue for the performing arts.This is a full-time position with an annual salary up to $55,000 commensurate with experience. This position will be located on our Gorham Campus but will be moving to the Portland Campus with the opening of the Crewe Center for the Arts, Fall 2025. This position may require evenings and weekends. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
- Minimum of two years related higher education experience.
- Exemplary customer service.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license with proper insurance compliant with Maine requirements.
