PharMerica is seeking a highly capable and motivated Pharmacy Director to join our team. We are a non-retail pharmacy dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs of hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide.
The Pharmacy Director is responsible for directing the workforce in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy or multiple locations and managing costs to established goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Control pharmacy costs to meet or exceed budgeted cost per script.
- Provide leadership and direction to build an effective team and continually develop associates to improve performance.
- Maintain positive customer relationships and attend quarterly business reviews.
- Work with Client Services and Sales team to effectively communicate with customers (DONs, Administrators, Staff RNs) and resolve customer issues.
- Implement, maintain, and report on core processes.
- Ensure pharmacy compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Emphasize dispensing efficiency and accuracy with the workforce, managing the dispensing process to exceed the Company's goals.
- Manage staffing and scheduling to optimize production and contain labor costs.
- Handle pharmacy personnel issues including hiring, evaluations, discipline, separation, and monitor and approve payroll.
- Manage physical inventory to meet client requirements and Company goals.
- Implement Company, Region, and District policies, processes, and initiatives.
- Provide timely and accurate reports as required.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
Education/Learning Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree
- Desired: MBA; PharmD
Work Experience:
- Required: Management/supervisory experience; experience in pharmacy/healthcare
- Desired: P&L responsibility; LTC experience
Skills/Knowledge:
- Required: Computer skills
- Desired: Business/financial knowledge; knowledge of pharmacy regulations; LTC pharmacy; performance management
Licenses/Certifications:
- Required: As required by state regulations; clean driving record and proof of auto insurance
