Position Purpose The Director of Quality Assurance/Control is responsible for developing, implementing, and directing a hands-on strategic quality programs across all MBGs production regions. This role will develop and analyze key metrics to identify areas of opportunity; provide expertise and guidance to our MBG teams in resolving complex quality questions and challenges; represent our company with strategic customers and partners regarding quality matters; and participate in industry outreach activities to ensure our systems and processes are consistent with the latest science.This role emphasizes the importance of quality starting in the field, requiring grower accountability and collaboration with Horticulture to establish and maintain the highest standards throughout the production process. Michigan, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oregon, Washington, New Jersey and British Columbia2. Office: Alma, Georgia or Grand Junction, MIAccountabilities and Responsibilities 1. Develop and implement mandatory pre-season training for all quality control inspectors.2. Lead, manage, and direct implementation of world class quality processes. 3. Provide expertise, support, and guidance to MBG teams in resolving critical and complex quality challenges, oversight for projects and programs including specifications, shelf life, quality audits, controlled atmosphere storage, and quality holds.4. Work collaboratively with MBG teams to resolve systemic challenges and implement effective and sustainable systems.5. Interpret and communicate customer requirements to growers, packers, and MBG leaders.6. Develop a strong discipline of role clarity and hold self and team members accountable for performance and collaboration with MBG QC teams and partnerships.7. Establish and maintain an inclusive and diverse culture that provides a consistent positive employee experience.8. Ensure proactive performance management based on feedback, coaching, and mentoring.9. Serve as the initial contact for quality issues related to packaging prior to shipment.10. Assist and support procurement team with testing and trialing of potentially new vendors, materials, and packaging, ensuring quality standards.11. Responsible for daily updates and reviews of Power BI data.12. Maximize staff performance through staff development and coaching. This includes training and development, and mentoring.13. By example, create a positive work environment that encourages cooperation, teamwork, and values.14. Any other projects assigned by manager.Qualifications and Skills Required 1. Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent2. 10+ years of QA experience3. 3 years of managerial responsibility with project leadership accountability4. 2-4 years of experience if food/produce5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and strong leadership skills6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment7. Excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to share knowledge at appropriate levels of the organization8. Current and valid driver's license is required. Physical Demand (With or without accommodations) 1. Must be able to work in various temperature conditions.2. Travel in and out of state. Will travel 60% of the year.3.
