Reports to: Director of Quality Assurance
Delta is an AS9100 registered facility which manufactures prototype and production gears and housings to support the aerospace and defense industries.
Job Summary: The Director creates and implements Delta's quality standards. Accomplishes quality assurance objectives by monitoring, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures. Trains and motivate employees to ensure that quality standards are met. Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing to information analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the implementation and continued improvement of the quality systems and processes of an aerospace business
- Responsible to develop APQP Quality Control Plans & PFEMA by operation and product in coordination with Quality, and product engineers. One control plan for each part and each process.
- Responsible for setting and enforcing quality control plans and processes for outside sources including raw material suppliers.
- Responsible for gaging strategy, deployment, integrity, updates and continuity including gage room performance and update with latest gaging technologies.
- Responsible for GRR deployment and avoidance of interpretation on measuring devices or processes
- Coordinates and leads internal and external audits acting as primary point of contact.
- Leads Root Cause and Corrective Action process through full life cycle.
- Leads and provides oversight into the RMA process.
- Issues PIR (Problem Improvement Request) and NOE (Notice of Escape) process
- Responsible for delivery of parts to customers in a timely manner. Only through proper planning will the candidate avoid impacting lead time of components.
- Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
- Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
- Developing, implementing and monitors corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
- Works collaboratively and in conjunction with the larger function and leads the local site Quality team.
- Develops and monitors AS9100/AS13100 compliance, including new issues of documents that are received, and control of the documents.
- Manages the QMS system and documentation for additions and updates to be in compliance with AS9100/AS13100
- Maintain certification and coordination with PRI.
- Coordinates NADCAP compliance for NDT.
- Supplier Quality Manual receipt and entry into the system.
- Administrator of OASIS (Online Aerospace information Systems)
- ITAR/Export Control compliance

- HIGH QA:
- Monitor operators for machine capability and process controls.
• Enter jobs into High QA when new jobs are issues.
• Develop control plans into daily inspection process.
• Maintain records for SMA requirements.

Job Qualifications:
- Aerospace industry experience is a huge plus.
- Academic 4 year degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing engineering .
- 7+ years in progressive QE position.
- Understanding and experience in aerospace standards AS9100/AS13100 and/or ISO-9001, and its general practices.
- Has successfully has led a small quality team.
- Familiarity with calibration processes and documentation.
- Excellent internal and external Customer interface skills.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to get things done through influence
- Proven ability to lead projects that are complex in nature
- ASQ certification (preferred)
- J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 certifications (preferred)
- Working knowledge of ESD requirements and practices. (preferred)
- Electrical and electronic inspection processes. (preferred)
- Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
