The Director of Quality at Restek is the leader of the organization's quality function, responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management. This pivotal role involves not only strategically leading a team of dedicated quality professionals but also working cross-functionally to ensure that quality is embedded throughout the organization. The Director is accountable for maintaining Restek's quality accreditations and must possess a strong understanding of quality management systems while being able to effectively communicate their importance to diverse audiences. A key aspect of the role is driving consensus through the implementation of policies and programs that support continuous improvement and uphold Restek's commitment to delivering high-quality products.Job Duties:Leadership:
- Develop and execute quality policies, objectives, plans, and metrics: Align these with corporate strategic goals to enhance overall business performance.
- Provide strategic direction on quality initiatives: Advise senior leadership on quality-related matters to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Plan and direct resources: Support the quality management system and teams like Analytical Development and Project Management with adequate resources.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs: Monitor quality system performance, review trends, and report findings to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Recruit, motivate, and lead a high-performing team: Foster professional development and maintain an effective personnel structure.
Quality Systems:
- Oversee Quality Management System (QMS): Design, implement, and assess the effectiveness of Restek's QMS in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Act as Management Representative: Serve as the primary contact for quality management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement: Monitor, analyze, and audit the QMS to ensure ongoing alignment with business strategies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop long-term quality plans: Focus on new product development and product life-cycle management to sustain quality standards.
- Ensure QMS compliance: Ensure all elements of the QMS are effective and efficient.
Operational Oversight:
- Lead investigations and analyses: Conduct root cause analyses, risk assessments, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Contribute to Management Review meetings: Provide data and analysis to senior management to evaluate QMS performance.
Qualifications:Education/Experience:Minimum of a bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering or related technical field with at least 10 years of experience in quality management systems within manufacturing (preferably in leadership roles) or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Experience in new product development.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of quality system specifications (e.g., ISO/QS 9000).
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EAR, ITAR, DEA, ATF, CBP, OFAC, FTR, Anti-Boycott, and FCPA.
- Proficiency in statistical principles and tools, analytical thinking, and risk-based decision-making.
- Ability to build partnerships across functions to achieve business goals.
- Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including conflict resolution and barrier removal.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas clearly and precisely at all organizational levels.
