Job DescriptionThe Director of Reimbursement will be responsible for the following activities: Manage & supervise staff in the preparation and review of all workpapers for the submission of the regulatory cost reports for Hospitals, Diagnostic & Treatment Centers and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Manage the final review of workpapers whilst liaising with facility personnel, auditors and outside agencies for the submission of the cost reports and related surveys Direct staff and oversee the preparation of analytical data reviews required for all regulatory and non- regulatory external audits regarding issues related to cost reporting Manage the rate appeals Liaise, as the lead, in the preparation and analysis of data required in conjunction with internal and external legal counsel regarding appeals Serve as supervisor, mentor for personnel with relation to cost report preparation as well as provide training for new staff. Assist as needed to support other department projects and objectives
Minimum Qualifications1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Accounting, Finance or Business and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience, in settings and in roles, which demonstrate in depth understanding and experience in hospital finance, reflects in-depth understanding and knowledge of the principles, practices and related processes of third-party reimbursement for hospitals services, and includes broad based understanding of complete systems development and administration; or2. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. Each relevant degree above a Bachelor's Degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience, as described in #1 above.
