REPORTS TO: Project ManagerSTATUS: Full-Time, ExemptSUPERVISES: Case ManagerOVERVIEW:The Director of Resident Support Services oversees the delivery of services and programs to residents of NYCHA PACT Case Management at West Brighton Houses. The position requires high motivation and genuine concern for families and the community. The Director will engage in intake, assessment of the household and its needs, establishing desired goals, planning steps toward achieving goals, and ultimately executing the achievement of the goals and positive outcomes. They are responsible for linking residents to a myriad of services to enhance their quality of life, personal growth, self-sufficiency, and physical and mental health.RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise implementation of NYCHA PACT Social Service Plan at West Brighton Houses rehabilitation project, to include: resident outreach and communication, supportive services program management and coordination, case management, personal counseling and coaching, employment development, health services and initiatives, client tracking and monitoring, data management and reporting.Connect residents and their families to services to help them maintain necessities required to ensure a healthy quality of life.Oversee provision of various employment development and job readiness services to meet the needs of West Brighton residents.Assist in connecting youth to services including but not limited to early childhood education and/or early intervention, after school and summer programming, childcare, teen employment, post-secondary education/training opportunities.Coordinate programming to promote optimum health and address health concerns of residents.Work with residents, management, on-site security, and police to develop and implement public safety initiatives.Direct outreach efforts to assess specific service needs of all households in West Brighton Houses community; conduct/develop, review and monitor assessments and connect residents to services to meet identified needs.Monitor individual service planning with case management staff.Track individual connections to services.Implement management referral system to allow HOU staff to contact and assist residents involved in lease violations and other housing-related infractions immediately after they occur (within maximum of 48 business hours); assist resident to remain in lease compliance.Collaborate with residents, management and tenant association to implement community building activities.Update/maintain all case management files and database.Implement system for regularly (monthly) reporting by HOU to ownership regarding all above-mentioned tasks.Initiate and maintain regularly scheduled communication with on-site management staff.Represent HOU to federal and local agencies of government, the private housing industry, and community groups as necessary.Assure the implementation of adopted policies and procedures.Participate in weekly supervision with on-site staff and weekly supervision and scheduled site meetings with Project Manager.KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:Ability to provide vision and leadership to an organization serving a diverse population.Ability to sustain a collaborative, teamwork environment.Leadership skills needed to sustain a productive site during demanding periods of change.Experience working with residents of affordable housing.Knowledge of surrounding community, available resources and eligibility guidelines.Knowledge of database applications.Strong commitment to the professional development and training of staff.QUALIFICATIONS:Must have BSW or 3 years of related academic and work experience.At least two years in a supervisory position.Experience working collaboratively with low-income families.Problem-solving and organizational skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish rapport.Ability to motivate others towards achieving their goals.A strong sense of respect for confidentiality involving both clients and fellow employees.The ideal Director of Resident Support Services will possess the following additional skills:Leadership skills, including mentoring and ability to delegate to and motivate staff.Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.Flexibility and adaptability as challenging situations arise.Ability to maintain a calm atmosphere under pressure and stressful situations.Resident Advocacy.Ability to deal with difficult situations and people.Sensitivity to different cultures and diversity, with the capacity to work with diversity that extends beyond race.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to pass employment criminal background screening.#J-18808-Ljbffr
