Position Title Director of Retention Job DutiesThe Director of Retention is responsible for the college-wide development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive retention programming to enhance student success including persistence, retention, and academic completion. The Director of Retention will be responsible for communicating these strategies to the College community for implementation.The Director of Retention will work in a cooperative effort with the Vice-President of Academics, Associate Vice President of Student Services, Dean of Academic Support and Effectiveness, the other academic deans, academic advisors, faculty, and other institutional support staff to develop and implement retention strategies to meet student success goals.This is a grant-funded position.Butler Community College offers a very generous benefits package. Knowledge of retention strategies including assessment and advisement strategies and student information systems.B. Familiarity with current computing technologies and networking requirements.C. Strong interpersonal communication skills.D. Strong organizational and communication skills.E. General knowledge of BCC programs and services.F. Ability to work as a team member to assist in the efficient operation of the various interfacing departments and faculty.Required experienceA. At least 3 years of experience in post-secondary higher education, preferably at a community college.B. Prior experience in supporting student success and achievement is required.Required educational backgroundBachelors degree (in a related field) required, Master's degree preferred.
