Comfort Systems USA Shoffner is seeking a Director of Safety with a strategic approach and dedicated to providing leadership for our crucial safety initiatives in the commercial construction industry. In this role, you will serve as a key advisor, fostering a culture of safety and compliance while balancing the needs of our employees and customers. Some overnight travel may be required to our offices in Asheville North Carolina, Blountville, TN and Roanoke Virginia.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction for workplace safety and promote a strong Safety Culture aligned with our Company Mission and Core Beliefs.
- Act as an advisor to the Executive Team on all safety-related matters.
- Uphold and enforce company policies and procedures, demonstrating high ethical standards.
- Oversee safety-related expenses, ensuring effective and efficient spending.
- Approve the purchase of safety-related assets in accordance with company policy.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct employee training for OSHA and company safety initiatives.
- Proactively prevent vehicle accidents, employee injuries, and property damage.
- Recruit, train, and supervise the safety team, fostering professional growth and a strong talent pipeline.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and manage compensation and advancement opportunities.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a safety management role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Must have experience with a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) commercial contractor.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- OSHA 500
- Ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.
