The responsibilities and support for the successful candidate include:
- Legal Expertise: Must have knowledge and experience in managing construction defects, bodily injury litigation with strong legal research, and structuring analyses.
- Drafting Pleadings and Motions: Must have excellent writing and drafting skills; motions, depositions, and letters regarding construction litigation issues. Prepare legal documents for complaints or petitions to initiate or respond to legal actions. strong written and verbal communication, organizational abilities, and professional presentation.
- Investigation: Conducting comprehensive investigations into construction defects, which may entail gathering evidence, consulting with experts (such as engineers or architects), deposition prep, and documenting the nature and extent of the defects.
- Discovery Management: Overseeing the discovery process, which includes obtaining and reviewing technical evidence from the opposing party, such as documents, depositions, and interrogatories.
- Negotiation Support: Assisting the Firm's Partner in negotiating settlements with opposing parties or their insurance companies to resolve disputes without going to trial.
- Client Communication: Keeping clients updated on their case progress, clarifying legal options, and advising on strategic decisions throughout the litigation process.
- Remediation and Damages: Preparing reports and communications to secure appropriate remedies for clients, which may include repairs, financial compensation, or other forms of relief.
- Court Representation: Supporting Firm Partner (s) in representing clients in court hearings, trials, or arbitration by preparing evidence and drafting legal arguments to advocate for the client's interests.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensuring all legal actions align with applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding the interests of both the Firm and its clients throughout the case and litigation process.
- Proactive Work Ethic: Being a self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with varying time constraints to produce high-quality work.
- Time Management and Attention to Detail: Essential skills include effective time management, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the case cycle and timeline.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the Bar
- Ability to be admitted to practice law in the state of Colorado
- 5-7 years' experience in construction defects, bodily injury, and litigation knowledge in general law
- Proficiency in legal drafting and research

Compensation: The starting compensation for this position is an annual base salary of $120,000 plus benefits. However, the starting salary is subject to increase depending on experience. The position also has the potential for additional compensation through incentive/bonus structures.
