Job Description :
The Director of Sales will be responsible for driving sales across the key Rockefeller Center attractions (Top of the Rock Observation Deck, Rockefeller Center Tour, The Rink). The Director will manage a sales team of two overseeing group sales, hotels and concierge markets, local receptive operators, international market development, and must partner closely with NYC Tourism + Conventions and will report into the Senior Director of Sales and Marketing. The ideal candidate is sales orientated, energized, and a collaborative individual with exceptional communication and hospitality skills as well as the ability to analyze data to inform our business decisions. Additionally, this person must be able to think outside the box and wear a marketing and sales hat. Adept at managing and nurturing current client accounts while exploring new business opportunities.Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the full sales cycle of the sales programs to track metrics and sales volumes coming out of assigned markets.
  • Design, develop and implement promotions and new rates structures that utilize the combined resources of the Rock Center campus to increase favorable press exposure and sales impact to the Center.
  • Represent Tishman Speyer and Rockefeller Center at various industry network events, trade shows, client presentations and site visits.
  • Manage a team of two sales managers and be an inspiring team leader and coach and possess a strong orientation toward hospitality and customer experience.
  • Plan and execute program of work to cover domestic and international travel trade initiatives as assigned.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external marketing partners to develop ticket packages and ancillary revenue opportunities.
  • Manage an existing account base of receptive and tour operators and identify new areas of business with an eye on technology and API integration.
  • Generate reports as needed for internal and external clients.
  • Solicit and facilitate FAM trips from top clients.
About You: Skills & Qualifications:
  • College Degree required
  • Self-starter and ability to coach and inspire their team with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Creative and forward thinking that challenges the status quo.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the travel or hospitality industry.
  • Must possess strong communication skills, multi-lingual is a plus with focus on Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, French and German.
  • Must be persuasive and concise verbal and written communicator and be comfortable presenting to large groups and clients.
  • Ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized and tech savvy; be able to embrace new technology/systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally approximately 20%-40% of the time.
  • As is typical in the attractions/hospitality industry, must be able to manage a flexible work schedule including some nights and weekends.
  • Existing relationships with travel trade clients, airlines and other tourism partners is highly preferred.
  • Onsite presence required for this role.

This role is also eligible for an on target incentive plan, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees. This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer's New York team, as we've considered factors specific to this geography.
