Director of Sales - Furniture Manufacturer - Richmond, VAThis is an exciting role for an experienced sales executive to join a custom furniture manufacturer that is growing. This opportunity allows you to work directly with the President as you drive sales and relationships for the company.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution: - Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Set sales targets and KPIs and develop action plans to achieve them.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor the internal and external sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive and productive team environment.
- Sales Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales department, including customer sales lifecycle and reporting.
- Implement and manage sales processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the marketing and customer service teams to enhance the overall customer experience.
- Utilize enterprise CRM software to maintain all aspects of the customer lifecycle process.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
- Approve expenditures and monitor financial performance against budget.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Analyze sales data to derive actionable insights and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and finance, to align sales efforts with overall company goals.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive business initiatives and projects.Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within the home d--cor, home fashions or furniture wholesale or retail industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of home furnishings marketplace, consumer or designer or retailer distribution channels.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
