Director of Sales - Furniture Manufacturer - Richmond, VAThis is an exciting role for an experienced sales executive to join a custom furniture manufacturer that is growing. This opportunity allows you to work directly with the President as you drive sales and relationships for the company.Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company revenue goals.
    • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
    • Set sales targets and KPIs and develop action plans to achieve them.
    • Team Leadership and Management:
      • Recruit, train, and mentor the internal and external sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
      • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
      • Foster a positive and productive team environment.
      • Sales Operations:
        • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales department, including customer sales lifecycle and reporting.
        • Implement and manage sales processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
        • Monitor and analyze sales metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
        • Client Relationship Management:
          • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
          • Address client concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
          • Collaborate with the marketing and customer service teams to enhance the overall customer experience.
          • Utilize enterprise CRM software to maintain all aspects of the customer lifecycle process.
          • Budget and Resource Management:
            • Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
            • Approve expenditures and monitor financial performance against budget.
            • Reporting and Analysis:
              • Prepare and present regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
              • Analyze sales data to derive actionable insights and adjust strategies accordingly.
              • Collaboration:
                • Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and finance, to align sales efforts with overall company goals.
                • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive business initiatives and projects.Qualifications
                  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
                  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within the home d--cor, home fashions or furniture wholesale or retail industry.
                  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
                  • Knowledge of home furnishings marketplace, consumer or designer or retailer distribution channels.
                  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
                  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
                  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
                  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
                  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Compensation and Benefits
