Hey you, Torchy's Tacos is looking for a Director of Social.

Are you that someone? Our new Director of Social will lead the strategic and creative vision for Torchy's social media, influencer, and digital community engagement. This fiery, experiencedindividual will report to our Head of Marketing and guide our talented social media team to bring Torchy's unapologetic and authentic voice to life in bolder, bigger, and fearlessly experimental ways.

Torchy's is the fastest-growing, most devilishly delicious taco restaurant in the USA.

But even that description doesn't do us justice. Torchy's is kind of a cult. If you've walked through the doors in any of our 126+ locations, you get it. Where we're from (Austin, baby), having a taco or three at Torchy's is like going on a little hedonistic pleasure trip in a paradise of good people who love good eats. Just like it says on our website, “We're a crew of fiery, taco-crazed foodies fueled by hot sauce and a shared passion for damn good food.”

Our mission is to innovate constantly to provide unique tacos, margaritas, salads, and more all year long. AKA we keep it fresh. We hope this Director of Social does the same (except, just online, because you're not expected to know how to make guac IRL…yet.)

You're a strategic, creative, and fearlessly conceptual social media leader with fresh ideas and great experience.

You've developed cross-channel social strategies and put them to work. You've collaborated with TikTok influencers, large and small. You've handled flare-ups on Twitter/X. And, you've created engagement-driving, sticky content alongside a team of people who trust your instincts.

This Director of Social role is a leadership position, responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to resonate with our target audience, drive engagement, and strengthen our connection with the Taco Junkie community – all while delivering meaningful business results. You will guide the social media team and work hands-on with copywriters, designers, and cross-functional partners to collaborate and oversee content development, community growth, and crisis management.

Here's what you'll do in more detail.

  • Social Media Strategy: You'll develop and execute a bold, authentic social media strategy that amplifies Torchy's Tacos mission, voice, and business goals.
  • Inspire Creativity, Accountability & Leadership: You'll mentor the social media team, building a culture that's equal parts creative and results-driven. You'll help your team develop the tools and confidence they need to deliver.
  • Content Development Oversight: You will oversee the development of social media and influencer-driven content that is compelling, relevant, and designed to drive engagement. You will ensure all content aligns with the brand's tone – making our guests crave more online and in our restaurants as we grow.
  • Influencer & Partnership Strategy: You will recommend influencer partners and work on collaborations (large and small) across different social channels. You will also work with brand and organizational partners that align with our overarching marketing and creative strategy to bring even more flavor to the Torchy's brand.
  • Paid Social and Digital Campaigns: You will lead the strategy for paid social and digital advertising efforts, working closely with external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns are aligned with brand goals and effectively reach target audiences.
  • Community Engagement and Growth: You will lead efforts to grow and engage our online community, building meaningful connections with our audience and ensuring our social channels reflect a thriving, positive community.
  • Analytics and Reporting: You will measure the impact of your social media initiatives, guiding the team to use data, insights, and trends to optimize content over time. You will ensure the team meets business objectives and report results to senior leadership.
  • Crisis Management: You will ensure your team is prepared to handle crises effectively by developing the crisis management strategy for social media. This includes providing timely and strategic responses that uphold the brand's reputation during challenging situations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work across the marketing department and broader organization, ensuring social media and digital marketing initiatives align with overall brand campaigns and company objectives.

Here's what you'll bring to the table.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field OR equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in social media marketing, communications, or digital content creation, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing social media strategies across multiple platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
  • Experience working with influencers, content creators, and brand partnerships.

Bonus qualifications (but not required).

  • Master's degree or professional certifications in digital marketing.
  • Expertise in social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, etc.) and content management systems.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in the food & beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Experience managing influencer collaborations and brand partnerships.
