Whether you are a nurse, caregiver, culinary professional, maintenance worker or looking for a new career, we offer a wide range of career opportunities to fit your skills and interest.The Director of Staff Development is responsible for planning, directing, implementing and supervising staff training and educational activities.Qualifications:* Active Registered Nurse (in state position is located) required* Current CPR required* One (1) year experience in gerontological/rehabilitative nursing strongly preferred* Recent experience delivering in-service education or training personnel in a health care setting strongly preferred* Bachelor's Degree in nursing strongly preferred* Excellent communication and presentation skillsExpectations and Responsibilities:* Plans, directs, coordinates, and conducts training and education sessions for employees.* Conducts and coordinates new employee orientation and staff training; coordinates follow-up of all training.* Identifies on-going staff training needs in conjunction with management staff.* Serves as a resource person and provides support for managers and employees in meeting educational needs.* Responsible for overseeing the process for maintaining records of all employee training activities.* Develops and implements mentoring program for new hires.* Assists managers in coordinating attendance of employees to outside seminars and workshops.* May track and administer PPD's, bi-annual physicals, Hepatitis B vaccinations, and/or flu shots.* Exhibits knowledge of and effectively executes the Emergency and Disaster Plans.* Exhibits knowledge of and maintains a safe work environment and instructs staff in maintaining a safe work environment and in the development and use of safe work practices.* Uses infection control techniques to prevent the spread of communicable diseases; incorporates infection control principles in staff training.* Exhibits knowledge of and effectively assures resident rights; incorporates resident rights into staff training.* Coordinates staff training in the effective execution of the Emergency and Disaster plans.* Actively participates in the facility Quality Assurance Program, developing and implementing corrective action plans as warranted.* Educates staff on Quality Assurance process.* Participates in the formulation of the staff development budget.* Serves on assigned committees.
