Job Description :
Our client, a leading technical operations company in Albany, NY, is seeking a Director of Technical Operations to manage their 24/7 operational teams and ensure the sites overall technical support function. This is a hybrid role, with three days onsite at their office in Albany. Salary/Hourly Rate:$150K-175K Position Summary:The Director of Technical Operations will be responsible for leading technical operations in Albany, including establishing and overseeing a Network Operations Center (NOC) and a Security Operations Center (SOC). Responsibilities of the Director of Technical Operations:
  • Build and oversee NOC and SOC teams to ensure 24/7 operational coverage.
  • Evaluate and decide whether NOC and SOC functions will operate as a single team or separate specialized teams.
  • Staff teams to ensure coverage using a 1.5x redundancy multiplier:
    • 16/7 Coverage: Approximately 5 team members.
    • 24/7 Coverage: Approximately 6-7 team members per team.
    • If split, each specialized team may start with 5 members.
  • Oversee additional technical operations areas, including:
    • Helpdesk support.
    • Technical facilities support (LAN/WAN).
    • Other site operations as required to maintain functionality.
  • Provide at least dotted-line leadership for these expanded responsibilities.
  • Act as the local technical operations leader based in Albany.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and maintain on-site technical infrastructure.
  • Supervise shift-based teams with 24/7 coverage.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and operational efficiency of the NOC/SOC teams.
Qualifications: of the Director of Technical Operations:
  • 7-10 of IT operations management experience with managing a 24/7 team, support an online, customer facing application infrastructure.
  • Strong Cloud experience. (Azure / AWS / GCP)
  • This role will require strong leadership skills, technical expertise in NOC/SOC operations, and the ability to oversee broad technical support functions across an expanding scope.
  • Must have some prior healthcare or pharmaceutical background.
  • Prior experience with setting up and managing a call center, NOC, SOC environment.
