Position Summary:
The Director of Teen Services and Leadership Development is responsible for management of the daily operations of the Teen Center, Outreach/Teen Engagement, and the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).Supervising other Teen Department staff and working collaboratively with other Marks JCH employees, the Teen Director plans and implements various programs and Jewish educational experiences for teens and pre-teens. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, manage all aspects of program planning for the department, help in budget development and monitor departmental expenses. An alignment with the mission of the Marks JCH to serve as a hub for the Russian-Speaking Jewish community in Brooklyn and beyond is essential. This is an in-person position that is located in Brooklyn, NY and reports to the Marks JCH Program Director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, organize, and implement year-round high-quality programs including social events, volunteer opportunities, recreational and educational programs activities that engage pre-teens, teens and young adults
* Play a pivotal leadership role in Marks JCH Day and Overnight Camps
* Envision and administer educational workshops, outings, fairs, and provide individual school advocacy and refer to agency wrap-around support services
* Ensure innovative and effective service delivery, including completion of end-of-program evaluations and close-out reports
* Conduct Jewish leadership initiatives, ensuring proper recruitment, implementation, and oversight
* Envision and execute the Jewish education framework for Teen-related programs, including staff selection and training, curriculum development, and hiring of program specialists
* Hire, supervise, and motivate both full-time and part-time employees within the Teen Department, fostering an inspired team for teen engagement and Jewish experiential education
* Supervise SYEP Coordinator to ensure planning and implementation of SYEP program, securing diverse worksites to ensure placement of over 700 participants
* Represent Marks JCH at conferences and trainings; serve a Program Contact for DYCD, ensuring contract compliance
Additional Responsibilities:
* Maintain monthly statistical reports and ensure all program deliverables are met
* Engage in continuous publicity and outreach efforts for programs and events
* Meet departmental fiscal responsibilities and all funder-related reporting
* Other activities as assigned by the Program Director
