Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday during business hours, plus occasional after-hours for special events and Center emergencies.Required Education and Experience:Knowledge in the field of autism and the skill to share that knowledge with a diverse audience, including: those with ASD; their families; and their advocates and educational, recreational, health care and support service providers as well as the community at large is preferred;Demonstrated ability in tenant management and personnel supervision;Experience and comfort with presenting to groups and the media; andExperience in annual fundraising and development (not capital campaigns).Summary/Objective: The Golisano Autism Center (the “Center”) exists for the purpose of supporting those entities in residence at the Center that are providers of services to individuals and their families affected by autism spectrum disorder and related disorders (“ASD”). The Director of the Center, as an employee of CP Rochester (the “Agency”), which contractually provides director services to the Center, is responsible for (i) overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Center relative to the space it leases to those providers, (ii) assisting the Partner Providers/tenants with collaborative community outreach to promote opportunities at the Center and (iii) conducting fundraising via annual appeals and special events for the benefit of the Center and, in turn, its providers.Essential Functions:Imparts the Agency's philosophy of “Equal Opportunity, Independence and Realization of Individual Potential” to children, families, program staff and community resources;Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with Agency policies and state and federal laws;Manages, operates and maintains the Center to facilitate the flow of services within the scope of lease agreements with providers, including: overseeing the Center's peer navigator and receptionist/assistant;providing training sessions regarding the health and safety of the occupants of the Center (emergency drills, security systems, reporting physical plant issues, etc.);scheduling shared space times for all providers;ensuring access to required systems (phones, internet, copies, etc.);chairing the Partner Provider and Safety Committee meetings;working closely with the Center's Board of Directors and CFO;onboarding new tenant providers after sufficient vetting of their fit with the Center's mission and vision;Promotes the Center's vision and mission by working collaboratively with all providers and their employees, affiliated community organizations and families, to provide a facility that meets the needs of individuals of all ages with an ASD diagnosis, including their families;Leads fundraising efforts to meet annual fundraising goals as determined by the Board of Directors;Maintains records of donor information and ensures that appropriate thank-yous are sent to all donors;Pursues and implements grants that further the vision and mission of the Center and its providers;Increases awareness and visibility of the Center and its providers by working collaboratively with its Partner Providers to promote opportunities at the Center by way of social media, newsletters and other means;Promotes a tenant roster that meets the specific needs of individuals of all ages with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and their families;Acts as the spokesperson for the Center as determined by the Chairperson of the board of directors;Participates in conferences, workshops and in-service training as needed to enhance job skills and personal growth and development;Adheres to Agency policies, procedures and guidelines.Competency Requirements:Collaboration skills and team development;Organizational skills;Ethical practice;Supervisory Responsibility: Provides direct supervision to the Center's peer navigator, its receptionist(s) and its volunteers.Other Duties: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
