Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionUnder general direction, with considerable latitude for independent judgment and initiative, develops, plans and establishes training, educational and developmental programs in order to enhance skills, remedy deficiencies, upgrade human resources and meet forecasted skill requirements of the facility. Manages and administers the day-to-day activities of the training and engagement section including planning, supervision, coordination, control and direction of the training and engagement section/group. Additionally, will plan, organize, and coordinate programs, and develop and implement initiatives within the Human Resources Department, as well as the facility as a whole, to support employee wellness, retention and engagement.General tasks and responsibilities will include:
  • Conduct seminars, workshops, and conferences for managerial and executive staff.
  • Deliver general or specialized training sessions covering areas like orientation, on-the-job training, leadership, and more.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training courses aligned with organizational goals.
  • Managing external management and professional development programs for senior management.
  • Establish and implement administrative systems for participant selection and course evaluation.
  • Conceptualizes training programs based on needs assessments to improve employee performance.
  • Develop follow-up systems to track and ensure training effectiveness.
  • Conduct research on training best practices and trends.
  • Work with Department Heads to prepare training curricula to address specific skill gaps.
  • Provide support for employee engagement and wellness program planning.
  • Assist with strategic planning and project implementation.
  • Evaluates the success of training programs in the management and development continuum and redesigns programs based on these evaluations.
  • Oversees the collection and evaluation of data to determine effectiveness of engagement and wellness initiative, and to support the decision-making process for future programming.
  • Plans, coordinates and implements wellness programs and other facility and/or departmental projects that strengthen organizational resources to achieve strategic goals, including staff engagement, retention and improved employee well-being.
  • Leads the outreach for the development of new wellness initiatives and plans and coordinates the marketing efforts to promote upcoming programs.
  • Conducts needs assessments to identify gaps in wellness program offerings and availability, and identifies ways to create equity in program delivery across disciplines, units and tours.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications1. A Master's Degree with specialization in Personnel Management, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Psychology or Vocational Guidance, and two years of experience in personnel management or personnel administration in a large governmental agency, hospital or healthcare facility or civic organization or business firm employing at least three-hundred employees, one year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity; or, 2. A Baccalaureate Degree issued from an accredited college or university, and three years of experience as indicated in (1), two years of which shall have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity. (Experience which consists solely of the maintenance of personnel transactions will not be accepted); or, 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.Department Preferences
  • 5 years of experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the principals of training and manpower development programs and ability to analyze and determine the needs of the facility
  • Employee engagement and training programs in a health care facility,
  • Business or educational, governmental organizations or other fields relating to training, development and program planning
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience indicating the ability to perform satisfactorily
  • Demonstrated skills in oral communication and the ability to relate to others;
  • Proficient writing and research skills;
  • Event planning
