Responsibilities

Based in Bakersfield, California, the Director of Wealth Management (DOWM) will report to the Vice President, Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and assist in oversight of all aspects of our investment business. The DOWM will play a vital role in engaging existing client relationships across a wide range of financial matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Regularly interact with existing clients to build rapport and deepen relationships.

· Schedule and conduct client meetings to communicate market updates, portfolio status updates, asset allocation adjustments, and other financial planning solutions to meet each client's unique and specific needs.

· Develop investment policy statements (IPS) and review implementation within client portfolios to ensure compliance with IPS.

· Research financial planning situations for clients to provide objectives, guidance, and solutions towards a resolution of the objectives.

· Collaborate with CIO and other members of the investment team in ongoing research and diligence for portfolio investment decisions, manager selection, and other investment related projects.

· Lead education initiatives primarily targeted towards our younger clients.

· Lead internal coordination and communication of ongoing client engagements.

· Work with Director of Operations and other team members on operational workflows to drive efficiencies throughout the client service and reporting functions.

· Understand compliance issues and stay current on existing regulations and potential changes to rules and laws impacting the business (SEC compliance) or clients (estate and tax planning).

Qualifications

· A strong cultural fit with the family and the existing team members will be essential. Humility, discretion, honesty, and personal integrity are paramount qualities to succeed in this role.

· Candidates must be self-motivated with a sincere interest in investments and financial planning, a strong desire to grow professionally, and a willingness to accept new responsibilities with the changing needs of our clients.

· Candidates should possess at least seven years of financial planning/wealth management experience and having previously worked at a family office, a multi-family office, or a wealth management firm is preferred.

· Candidates must have strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, including an ability to connect with a wide range of personalities.

· Candidates must have excellent written, verbal, problem solving, and analytical skills.

· Candidates must be proficient in the use of appropriate financial planning tools and Excel.

· Candidates with a master's degree, CFA, CFP, or other credentials are preferred.
