Director Surgical Services
Registered Nurses with Director, Unit Management or Supervisory experience in Surgical Services have an opportunity to lead an expanding Surgical Services department at Chelsea Hospital.
Chelsea's Surgical Services provides state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. More than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in the fields of gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery. Surgical Services is staffed by board-certified surgeons and anesthesiologists, highly skilled registered nurses, surgical technologists, perioperative assistants, and x-ray technologists.
The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the daily operations of Surgical Services which includes the Operating Rooms, Prep/Pacu, Anesthesia, Instrument Care, PAT Pre-Anesthesia Testing Clinic, and the Endoscopy/Pain Clinic. Plans future growth and needs of the departments. Works with other hospital leaders and areas to coordinate services to provide excellent patient care. Maintains fiscal and quality responsibility for area(s). Provides leadership/management of staff. Recruits and retains the highest quality staff. Provides coaching, mentoring, and training of staff knowledge and skills, promoting clinical growth and leadership development (potential succession planning). Provides supervision, feedback, evaluation, and documentation of employee performance. Assures quality and safety standards are consistently achieved and provides leadership in risk management, patient safety and legal issues.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
A BSN is required and a MSN is preferred.
A Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse is required.
To be considered share your five or more years of Surgical Services experience and relevant nursing management or supervisory background.
