Job Description :

The Total Rewards Director is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of the organization's total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, executive compensation, and retirement plans. This role involves partnering with senior leadership and the board of directors to ensure the company's compensation and benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. The Total Rewards Manager will also prepare and deliver board reports and presentations, providing key insights and recommendations to support decision-making at the highest levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation Management:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive positioning of compensation packages and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee job evaluation processes and manage pay equity initiatives to ensure fairness and compliance.

Executive Compensation:

  • Design and manage executive compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, stock options, and other long-term incentives.
  • Prepare and present executive compensation recommendations to the board of directors and executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to executive compensation, including disclosure and reporting obligations.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and wellness programs.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to benefits offerings to meet the evolving needs of the workforce.
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers and negotiate contracts to optimize program effectiveness and cost-efficiency.

Retirement Plans:

  • Manage the company's retirement plans, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans, ensuring compliance with ERISA and other applicable regulations.
  • Work with external advisors and vendors to administer retirement plans and provide guidance to employees on retirement planning.
  • Monitor the financial health of retirement plans and recommend changes as necessary to ensure long-term sustainability.

Board Reporting and Presentations:

  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to the board of directors, providing insights on compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategy.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align total rewards initiatives with broader organizational goals.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to the board on executive compensation, incentive plans, and other strategic initiatives.

Compliance and Governance:

  • Ensure all compensation and benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including FLSA, ERISA, and Dodd-Frank, and implement changes as necessary.
  • Oversee internal audits and participate in external audits related to compensation and benefits.

Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of compensation and benefits professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, legal, and other departments to ensure cohesive total rewards strategies across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR business partners on compensation and benefits-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CCP, CEBS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in compensation and benefits, with a focus on executive compensation and retirement plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of HRIS and MS Office, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Proven experience in preparing and delivering board reports and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of compensation practices, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships with senior leadership and the board of directors.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and compensation software.
