The Role:

Based onsite at Commerce IQ's Seattle, WA location, the Director of Total Rewards is responsible for the strategic analysis, design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits across all new hires and internal employees globally. You will support the People & Culture organization with deliverables required for internal leadership, board of directors, and employees globally. This role will support creating and driving the strategy, policy, and programs spanning all areas of compensation, total rewards, and equity to ensure pay practices are fair, equitable, and competitive to attract and retain the best talent in the world. The candidate will have the opportunity to build great relationships within the business to provide a world-class compensation program.

What You'll Do:

  • Work directly with the People & Culture (Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Ops) and Finance (Accounting, FP&A) team along with business leadership to support their decision-making for hiring, promotions, specific organizational initiatives, and annual compensation and benefits programs.
  • Key member of the People & Culture leadership team, direct report to the Chief People Officer.
  • Conduct research, quantitative analysis, data modeling, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand trends to drive strategic decisions around people.
  • Develop compensation and benefits programs including job architecture, level analysis, salary structures (executive comp, employee comp, equity analysis), and retention programs.
  • Aggregate data to participate in compensation surveys.
  • Develop and implement communication and training for compensation programs for recruiters, human resources professionals, and managers to promote understanding and transparency (including total compensation- variable and company bonus, equity distribution and refresh equity).
  • Prep quarterly board of directors material related to executive compensation, and partner with the Compensation Committee members as needed.
  • Mentor and train junior members of the team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, economics, or finance or equivalent experience in Total Rewards, Compensation, Finance/Business Analytics.
  • 8-10+ years of professional experience in compensation analysis and benefits administration.
  • Experience leading internal and external market analysis, equity programs and competitive rewards, employee benefits (medical/dental/401k) and other reward initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including experience building models and analyses.
  • Advanced Compensation experience, including but not limited to compliance, pay equity, and legal requirements in the US/UK and India.
  • Proven experience building compensation programs from the ground up.
  • Prior experience identifying technology, processes and training/communication material to scale Compensation Planning, Delivery and Sustainability to the company as we grow.
  • Deep understanding of benefit plan administration, selection and benefits enrollment working with third party providers.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple high priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience at a startup (2-3 years).

  • Knowledge of international laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • Complex understanding of compensation.

  • Strong consultative skills and highly effective in communicating clearly and persuasively with excellent influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using best practices, knowledge of internal and external business issues to provide a new perspective on existing solutions or to create new.

  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
  • Ability to come to the office 3 times per week (Seattle, WA or Mountain View, CA).
