They will be responsible for the program development and management, staff and volunteer supervision, budget preparation and management, government contract development, implementation, as well as overall management, New York State and City Health Code compliance, ACA, and community outreach. The Director of Youth and Family will carry out the mission and vision of the YMCA and demonstrate the YMCA values in all contacts with staff, members, volunteers, government agencies, and community members. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all Youth, Teen, and Family Programs. Manage program sites and ensure that program goals and outcomes are met in compliance with government contracts.
- Create, recommend, and implement a comprehensive youth and family program plan that considers space utilization equipment needs, budget requirements, safety and emergency procedures, YMCA values, and quality standards.
- Uphold association policies, demonstrate ethical behavior, and demonstrate the YMCA's values.
- Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate Teen programs, after-school programs, Cornerstone, Beacon, Family programs, and summer camp, as well as fee-based and funded off-site programs.
- Recruit, train, and supervise all Youth & Family staff and volunteers. Ensure that staff receives appropriate training consistent with professional goals.
- Regularly reviews all programs for Association and regulatory compliance.
- Develop, market, and implement fee-based and funded youth, family, sports, and teen programs on or offsite.
- Conduct annual staff and participant evaluations, using results to improve service delivery.
- Perform related duties:
- Attend community outreach events and meetings.
- Attend association meetings as required for areas of responsibility.
- Participate in the Annual Campaign.
- Participate and present in the board of managers meetings.
- Establish and maintain relations with community partners and service providers in a range of settings, including other CBOs and public and private schools.
- Provide assessment and appropriate intervention to program participants, youth members, and families.
- Respond to all member and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
- Serve as a liaison with city agencies, schools, and partners. Ensure standards and contract requirements are maintained.

- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, or Social Work required.
- Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Non-Profit Management or a Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience preferred.
- Three (3) - five (5) years of leadership experience supervising and running youth and family programs.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising youth programs and staff.
- Understanding of Youth Development Principles.
- Knowledge of program planning, implementation, evaluation, and management
- Current First Aid/CPR certs preferred.
- ACA Camp Director trained preferred.
