All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.Essential Functions:Guide and perform working fund processes, such as running daily processing, check printing, and preparing adjusting entries. Ensure timely payment of check requests and maintain accurate records and control reports.Supervise the day-to-day operations of the General Working Fund Group and oversee the daily activities of the staff to ensure timeliness of check processing. Develop and schedule program work plan in accordance with operational specifications and oversee the daily operations and coordinates activities to determine priorities.Review daily processing reports and data to clear or resolve any outstanding items. Research problem invoices and payments by working with internal and external customers to resolve issues in a timely manner. Confer with General Working Fund staff, department representatives, and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and policy interpretation; refer to appropriate department person when unable to respond.Provide quality customer service and assistance as the primary working fund contact for the campus.Work with the State General Accounting Division to address questions, resolve issues, and communicate information to the Assistant Controller, Disbursements.Implement policies, operating procedures, and processing methods to ensure efficient and accurate processing of General Working Fund transactions. In addition, advise staff and recipients in campus-wide applicable policy and procedures.Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devise and implement evaluation methodology; analyze results and recommend and/or take appropriate action.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.Experience : Two (2) years of financial or accounting experience preferably regarding to Accounts Payable related functions.Supervisory Experience: One (1) year of work coordination or direct supervision of staff.Other : Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
