I. Position DescriptionReporting to the Production Supervisor the Dismantling Operator will assist to support in the process of safe dismantling of Lithium-Ion EV batteries and Energy Storage batteries at Ecobat Solutions Arizona operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be able to establish the safety of the lithium-ion EV & ESS batteries receive by Ecobat Solution
- Be involved in the assessment of scrapped and or damaged lithium-ion EV & ESS batteries for safe disassembly.
- Carry out voltage checks on battery Modules in accordance with Ecobat Processes and make sure they are safe to discharge.
- Perform disassembly of scrap lithium-ion batteries
- Carry out assessments of battery modules and conduct stock controls along with packing and moving of output products.
- Be a key member of the team responsible for creating detailed processes for the dismantling.
- Weigh and dispose of any waste items from workshop such as Wiring Looms, Bus bars and alloy, steel, and plastic.
- Carry out temperature checks on the various battery storage building every 2 hours.
- Ensure manual tools fit for purpose and if damaged place a request for new tools when required.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of a motivated and engaged team that consistently deliver efficient and effective services.
II. Pre-Hire Requirements:
- Associate's degree in electrical engineering or similar training or equivalent experience
- 5 years experience as an industrial electrician
- Must take skills-based test
- Able to use tools such as meters and voltage testing equipment
- Able to read and interpret schematics
- Good interpersonal communications skills; written and verbal
- Able to work any shift

IV. Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
