From toys to apparel, books to games, our global marketing organization has a profound impact on The Walt Disney Company and the global markets in which we operate.As our Sustainable Materials Sourcing Intern, you will assist the team with various projects and tasks related to sourcing sustainable materials to achieve The Walt Disney Company's (TWDC) 2030 Sustainability Material Goals. Your key objectives will include assisting with the physical and digital libraries for textiles and trims, assisting with a 3D sampling pilot to reduce physical sampling, creating sustainability resources for the organization, and supporting Sourcing strategies to achieve more sustainable and traceable product. If selected for this role, you will report to the Manager of Sustainable Materials Sourcing.What You Will DoOn any given day you might:Facilitate collaborative material reviews and approvals with cross-functional partners, primarily in textilesCreate and organize physical and digital library entries for textiles, trims, and labelsCreate, track, and communicate requests in product lifecycle management system to SuppliersBuild and maintain reports and presentations on fabric consumption, development reporting, and progress towards sustainability goalsImprove data integrity through review of PLM inputsLearn the role of Sustainable Materials Sourcing and how it relates to Disney Global Merchandise & Sourcing Development in Apparel, Home, and Plush products.Gain knowledge of the garment, sample, and fabric development processParticipate in special projects that support The Walt Disney Company's 2030 Sustainability GoalsRequired Qualifications & SkillsPlease apply if you have:Passion for retail and sustainabilityKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Product Lifecycle Management software system is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skills, detail orientedAbility to manage multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously and success working well under tight deadlinesSchedule flexibility to accommodate global time zonesEducationBe enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or recent graduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Materials Science, Merchandising, Product Development or related fieldEligibility Requirements & Program InformationCandidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the below requirementsBe at least 18 years of agePossess unrestricted work authorizationHave not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or programAdditional InformationThe approximate dates of this internship are January 2025 through June 2025Ability to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship with possible evenings if necessaryThis internship is a hybrid position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspaceAble to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando Florida area and have reliable transportation to/from workLimited housing opportunities may be available for Florida Based Professional Interns through American Campus Communities, for more information click hereRecommendation – Print This Role Description: Strong candidates may be invited to complete a phone interview.
