Loudoun County Animal Services is looking for a full-time administrative assistant for our dispatch and humane law enforcement team. The newest member of our team will dedicate their time to answering calls, supporting Loudoun residents over the phone with animal inquiries, serving as a dispatcher in support of Humane Law Enforcement Officers and providing administrative support through record keeping, managing inventory of uniforms and equipment and other administrative tasks. This job is ideal for someone who is: • comfortable working with emotional callers in a very fast paced environment, • patient, compassionate and customer-focused, • detail-oriented in record-keeping • confident in Microsoft Excel This is a temporary position with benefits to be filled through, at least, July 2025. Work weeks will consist of days, with a generally set schedule of either Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; four (4) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual ability strongly preferred. Should possess some experience and knowledge pertaining to animals, animal care and/or public safety dispatch experience.
