Within our organization, the Operations department works directly with terminals, rails, depots, motor carriers and suppliers in the region daily. Specifically, Operations is ensuring all equipment is in good order and moving timely. This is accomplished through the use of internal systems for planning and monitoring equipment flows, managing empties to booking ratios, ensuring empty availability for vessel repositioning, while making sure no equipment is idling in the region.

Main Job Duties:

* Ensure proper dispatch process is implemented, executed, and monitored according to ISO & customer requirements. Act as catalyst to reshape ISO processes as needed to incrementally enhance efficiency (continuous improvement).

* Manage staff performance, identify training needs, and provide individual coaching and development opportunities to enhance performance and productivity.

* Handle exceptions and service recoveries within company & departmental guidelines.

* Act as entry point for import/export dispatch and foster relationship with export and import customer service reps, supplier management and intra-regional dispatchers targeting triangulation savings.

* Supervise & monitor all job orders created for local dispatch and trouble shoot any issues that are unable to be resolved by the dispatching reps.

* Monitor all incoming messages from both internal / external customers.

Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite- heavy Excel

* Leadership and Management Experience

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Preferred Skills:

* Knowledge of OOCL Enterprise Systems- this can be taught!

* Understanding of Terminal/Rail systems

* Attention to Detail

* Negotiation abilities

* Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes
