POSITION SUMMARY
The Dispatch/Compliance Specialist must be highly motivated and willing to complete any task assigned, along with performing the essential duties of the Dispatch/Compliance Specialist position. All employees are expected to communicate, build relationships with other team members, and use good judgment at all times. The Dispatch/Compliance Specialist is expected to have the ability to perform all duties of the positions preceding it in its specific career path, while being responsible and accountable to complete any other tasks assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Work in a safe manner and comply with WBC, client, OSHA, and DOT safety requirements.
* Serve as a safe and productive member of the Asset Group.
* Interact with internal and external customers professionally.
* Receive equipment / trucking requests from customers and make appropriate computer entries.
* Schedule and dispatch truck drivers and equipment/materials to appropriate locations according to customer requests.
* Place all orders with rental vendors for construction and related equipment.
* Develop working relationships with rental vendors.
* Move owned equipment between jobs to improve utilization.
* Communicate and collaborate with Service Center Supervisor regarding repair priorities in order to minimize rentals.
* Manage and obtain Federal inspections and oversize load permits.
* Maintain monthly mileage data for the large trucks.
* Be familiar with the Equipment Management components of the company information system including equipment usage, location, maintenance, etc.
* Inventory Sudbury Yard, Alexander Road yard and Distribution Center periodically to confirm equipment is accounted for properly in Viewpoint.
* Investigate and locate missing equipment as needed.
* Handle the ordering and issuance of State blanket permits, IFTA decals, and insurance cards for the fleet as well as maintaining permit books for each truck.
* Responsible for notifying and updating all information regarding expirations (CDL, medical card, TWIC).
* Input of information into appropriate systems for drivers to obtain TWIC, port ids, and access into the ports.
* Handle submitting logs to auditing vendor ensuring all e-logs are transmitted.
* Quarterly filing of fuel tax reports.
* Assist with DOT compliance for the company.
Education and/or Experience
* High School Diploma / GED - required
* 1-2 years' work experience in dispatching or routing - required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
* Proficient in Typing - required
* Implement assigned work tasks within designated work teams
* Read road maps
* Knowledge of light and heavy equipment
* Problem-solving, trouble-shooting, and maintenance-oriented reasoning
* Communicating with Service Center Supervisor, Distribution Center Supervisor, superintendents, project managers and team members

* Manual dexterity
* Route information: Must know and convey to the drivers information on weather, road conditions, routes to travel, and emergency procedures. Must know weight limits on roads and bridges, low clearances, traffic hazards, and have a good knowledge of local transportation systems, schedules, and routes.
* Equipment status: Must know the current status and location of every assigned item of equipment.
* Records: Must ensure that equipment required to operate over the road contains all DOT documentation required.
* Equipment Location: Inventory periodically to ensure Viewpoint locations are correct. This will ensure jobs are charged correctly, available equipment is listed at the proper locations and equipment requiring service is listed at the Service Center location in Viewpoint.
