DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIESOperate safely and compliance with all established HSSE policies and proceduresResponsible for the routing, scheduling and dispatching of drivers, equipment and freight loads going out daily/nightly and reporting activities to the Operations groupEnsure that all container numbers, times and dates are received from drivers and enter into the dispatch systemVerify customer invoicing and ratingProvides excellent customer service on the phone and when arranging for pick-ups and deliversCommunicates with dispatch at various customer sites to coordinate the movement of freightAssist customers with setting appointments and with other issues at locationsSupport the safe operation of all trucks, drivers and related trucking operationsPerforms administrative functions such as printing delivery receipts, manifest shipments for trailers, create freight bills, trace shipments, etc.Support 100% compliance with all transportation and safety regulations, Federal, State and WISHAPrepare a variety of reports for operations, customers and for internal useMay assist with trucking and warehouse operations, as neededConduct driver employee reviewsAssist human resources with counseling statementsMay lead tool box meetingsMay approve Driver time sheets, hourly pay review and approvalSupervise Drivers and provide mentorshipSpecialty oversight applicable to terminal locationEquipment control when spotting, staging , transferring equipment between terminals, to include scheduling R&M with the shopPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)High school diploma or GEDMinimum of two years transportation / dispatch experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESSound understanding of DOT regulations, HazMat and OTR experience preferredProficient use of MS Office Suite including Word, Outlook and ExcelExcellent verbal, written and listening communication skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize and exhibit team players attitudeHigh level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situationsDemonstrate poise, tact and diplomacyBenefitsAt Carlile Transportation, we understand the importance of fostering a comprehensive and supportive benefits package to enhance the overall well-being of our valued employees.
