Dispatcher / Delivery Driver - 1-800-FLOWERS.COM : Job Details

To represent 1-800-FLOWERS.com in a positive manner, and design merchandise to satisfy the needs of the customers, both retail and in-wire.The Dispatcher should have logistical experience, a clean driver's record and a good understanding of the delivery area. This person must be able to interact with the drivers to ensure that all orders are delivered within the required delivery windows. Orders may be time sensitive and could be going to schools, churches, funeral homes, businesses or residential homes and it is the responsibility of the Dispatcher to make sure these orders are delivered timely. The Dispatcher is required to check the vans every morning to make sure they are in good working order and the vehicles are not damaged. The Dispatcher will also be required to make deliveries when not dispatching or helping inside the facility as needed. The Dispatcher must have the flexibility of working extended hours during peak weeks or holidays. The Dispatcher must check each driver's route throughout the day to make sure they are confirming their orders, taking pictures and making sure all confirmations are closed by 7pm at the end of each day. The Dispatcher will be required to fill out any reports that are related to the job.Responsibilities:* . Must be able to stand for an extend period.. Must have a clean driver record. Dispatching of drivers and making sure the routes are optimized correctly.. Making sure all the attachments are on the orders before the drivers leave the facility.. Dispatcher is expected to deliver orders when he/she is not dispatching.. Required to keep maintenance records on each of the Vans and to ensure sure all maintenances are done when necessary.. Capable of working under pressure and good organizational skills.. Good Communicational skill necessary.. Must be Flexible and willing to work longer hours during holidays and on weekends.. Assist in other departments when necessary which can include boxing of the arrangements, cutting of flowers, helping out in Operations when necessary.. Receiving of Vendor deliveries when necessary.. Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds.. Must comply to all FDA standards.
