The Dispatcher II position serves as the initial First Responder providing critical resources and information to citizens of Riley County, Kansas. Working within the Communications Center at the Riley County Police Department (RCPD) provides you the opportunity to work in an environment consistently at the forefront of emergency response practices and procedures. RCPD equips you with cutting-edge Next Generation 911 technologies you will utilize to professionally process all emergency police, fire, and medical calls. You will collaborate with all emergency personnel in the county including law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMT/paramedics using Riley County's recently upgraded digital radio system. Schedules include built-in overtime to accommodate 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends off. Typing Test For a Dispatcher II position the typing test goal is 40 wpm, net. General Description Under the general supervision of the Dispatch Shift Supervisor, receives emergency and administrative telephone calls for service, creates call for service based upon necessary emergency response, and utilizes the radio system to dispatch police, fire, medical, and other related services.
