Job Location : Florham Park,NJ, USA
Responsible for receiving and evaluating incoming ambulance service calls to provide appropriate level of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) assistance. Dispatches appropriate resources and ensures accurate and appropriate transfer of information is received and conveyed. Serves as a part of the Emergency Medical Services Department supporting the basic and advanced life support personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Responds to the incoming calls for Air Medical Flight and Critical Care Ground services and provides appropriate level of emergency assistance required.
2. Assigns most appropriate ALS and/or BLS resource to meet patient and customer needs.
3. Assures safe completion of the emergency through superior communication and customer service skills.
4. Utilizes multiple phone lines, six computer screens and wall monitors containing information ranging from Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, telecommunications equipment, mapping software, vehicle tracking software, weather and traffic information to assure the safety of medical crews.
5. Coordinates with other EMS teams and Communications Center in the region to acquire necessary logistical support for the mission and assure safe operations.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 3 years of emergency and/or medical transport dispatching experience preferred
3. CPR Certification
3. 911 Officer (BTC or ETC) and EMD (New Jersey or National Academy) preferred.
4. Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) preferred
Preferred:
1. Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic.
